Programme-Overview:
MA History aims at helping students to understand the present existing social, political, religious and economic conditions of the people. The present is in fact the child of the past. It is a development of the past. Without the knowledge of history, we cannot have the background of our religion, customs institutions, administration and so on. Our present conditions are thus the result of the past problems. Thus, the teaching of history helps the students to explain the present, to analyze it and to trace its course. Cause-and-effect relationship between the past and the present is lively presented in the history. History thus helps us to understand the present-day problems both at the national and international level accurately and objectively. This understanding enables us to lead useful and efficient lives.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to SC/ST Students
The post matric Scholarship to SC/ST students will be available to those students whose family income is less than 2.5 lacs per annum. The students will have to submit three sets of the following documents at the time of admission:
- Attested affidavit regarding income to be submitted by student's father/guardian only.
- Domicile certificate
- Caste certificate issued by competent authority ; ADC/SDM/EM/Tehsildar.
- Photostat copies of matric certificate and last examination passed.
- Photocopy of Aadhaar card of student and parents
- A copy of bank account of claimant,linked to Aadhaar card and with IFSC code.
- One passport size photograph.
If a student fail to fulfill the following conditions, he will have to pay all the fee from his/her own resources for the period of their study at the university:
The student does not complete his/her course of study at the university and leaves in between. OR
The student does not attend 75% of the lectures in all subjects. OR
The student does not pass an examination of any semester.
Note:
- Claimant/ student is herself/himself responsible for applying online for SC Scholarship by last date notified by university every year.
The university will only facilitate the students in applying online. The students who fails to apply for Scholarship online by the stipulated date, will have to deposit the fee.
- Student who after passing one stage of education get admission in the same stage of education in different subjects will not be eligible for post matric Scholarship scheme to SC/ST students.
- If the Scholarship is not sanctioned by the government even after applying for the same, the student will have to deposit the full fee.

Programme Outcome & Admission Procedure
Programme Outcome:
After completing this program the learner will be able to:
- Understand the methods of historical enquiry, including how evidence is used rigorously to make historical claims, and discern how and why contrasting arguments and interpretations of the past have been constructed.
- Gain historical perspective by placing their growing knowledge into different contexts, understanding the connections between local, regional, national and international history; between cultural, economic, military, political, religious and social history; and between short-term and long-term timescales.
- Employability: learners will able to get employed in public and private sector. Moreover, they will be able to set their own coaching centers or academies.
- Ability to construct an argument and communicate findings in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing. And capacity to think objectively and approach problems and new situations with an open mind.

- Fill the application form given in the prospectus.
- Attach self-attested copies of the documents.
- Submit the completed Admission Form to SBBSU admission desk.

- Deposit requisite fee as mentioned in the prospectus only if eligible.
