Programme-Overview:

The Department of Life science and Allied health Science under University Institute of Sciences at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar (Punjab) offers diagnostic education through wide array of imaging modalities like MRI, CT, DEXA, DSA, USG (3D, 4D), CR, IITV Fluoroscopy, Conventional Fluoroscopy, Stationary X-Ray Units, Portable X-Ray Units and Mammography Unit. The department performs academic activities by the presentation on Scientific conferences, seminars and workshops. CBCS (Credit based choice system) classes in collaboration with experienced faculties. Examinations for Diploma and B.Sc. conducted according to the semester system. The department also provides regular updated syllabus and curriculum which is planned in an ordered manner to ensure overall preparation of Radio-Imaging students in form of lectures and clinical training also with newly adopted teaching methodologies likes Student Interactive Session, Seminars, PPT (PowerPoint Presentations Teaching), GD (Group Discussion) and PD (Panel Discussion).

Pedagogy

The mission of Radio-Imaging Department is to bring the best technologists with knowledge and latest skills required to handle with the advances in imaging technology like MRI, CT, DEXA, DSA, USG (3D, 4D), CR, IITV Fluoroscopy, Conventional Fluoroscopy, Stationary X-Ray Units, Portable X-Ray Units and Mammography Units for the various purposes. There is a great demand of technologist who are skilled & competent.

Eligibility:

Must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 50%. For SC/ST/OBC students, the minimum marks requirement is 45%. Students passing 10+2 should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their main subjects.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to SC/ST Students

The post matric Scholarship to SC/ST students will be available to those students whose family income is less than 2.5 lacs per annum. The students will have to submit three sets of the following documents at the time of admission:

  • Attested affidavit regarding income to be submitted by student's father/guardian only.
  • Domicile certificate
  • Caste certificate issued by competent authority ; ADC/SDM/EM/Tehsildar.
  • Photostat copies of matric certificate and last examination passed.
  • Photocopy of Aadhaar card of student and parents
  • A copy of bank account of claimant,linked to Aadhaar card and with IFSC code.
  • One passport size photograph.

If a student fail to fulfill the following conditions, he will have to pay all the fee from his/her own resources for the period of their study at the university:

The student does not complete his/her course of study at the university and leaves in between. OR
The student does not attend 75% of the lectures in all subjects. OR
The student does not pass an examination of any semester.
Note:
  • Claimant/ student is herself/himself responsible for applying online for SC Scholarship by last date notified by university every year. The university will only facilitate the students in applying online. The students who fails to apply for Scholarship online by the stipulated date, will have to deposit the fee.
  • Student who after passing one stage of education get admission in the same stage of education in different subjects will not be eligible for post matric Scholarship scheme to SC/ST students.
  • If the Scholarship is not sanctioned by the government even after applying for the same, the student will have to deposit the full fee.

Programme Outcome:

  • Apply knowledge and technical skills associated with medical lab technology.
  • Apply problem resolving techniques to recognize and correct technical errors, recognize instrument faults and seek appropriate supervisory assistance, and authenticate the accuracy of laboratory results
  • Work as a leader in the assorted professional and industrial research zones. Connect excellently by oral, written and technical means.
