Sant Baba Bhag Singh University organizes Webinar on Student & Faculty Sensitization on “Scope & Applications of Chemical & Physical Sciences in Power Sector”.

With the blessing of Reverend Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Bramh Ji), Honourable Chancellor, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University and under the guidance of Dr Dharamjit Singh Parmar Vice-Chancellor, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, a webinar entitiled Student & Faculty Sensitization on “Scope & Applications of Chemical & Physical Sciences in Power Sector” on 30th March 2021 through online platform was successfully organized by Department of Physical Sciences (Under the aegis of IQAC) for faculty and students of various disciplines. This webinar was focused on skill & employability scopes in power sector. Mr Chandan Sharma, Senior Manager, NTPC Korba STPS, Korba, Chhattisgarh was the resource person for the webinar. Mr Chandan Sharma has a wide experience of 16 year in NTPC. NTPC being India’s leading power generator organization with diverse opportunities and scopes for science and Technology in term of employability as well as Research & Development.

Webinar commenced with the welcome address by Dr Mithu Maiti Jana, Co-Convener of the webinar. Expert has highlighted various core sectors of NTPC: Energy Scenario of India, Socio economic trend in Power Sector,Processes of power generations and Instrumentations, Recruitements in NTPC.
Speaker has highlighted various aspects of Chemistry and chemical engineering such as Solution Chemistry, Water treatment, fuel quality monitoring and Fault Diagnosis Laboratories as core area of chemical sciences.

Expert has also highlighted the current challenges & opportunities associated with Power sector, Innovative Research areas which are explored in collaboration with IITs as solution for power generation as well as waste management. The webinar was highly informative and motivational for students and Faculty as well. Webinar is oncluded with Vote of thanks by Coordinator of Department of Physical Sciences.
