Activity Report
As part of the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP), the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture 8th semester students visited the Mushroom Farm located in Village Thiara, District Hoshiarpur, on 06 February 2025. The visit was coordinated under the guidance of two faculty members, Dr.Shalu Vyas and Dr. Vikrant Jaryan. Mr.Pawan Kumar, the Manager of the Mushroom Farm, warmly welcomed the students and shared his inspirational journey in the field of mushroom cultivation. He elaborated on the training he had received and how his determination, skill-building, and innovation helped him become a successful entrepreneur in the mushroom industry.
During the interactive session, Mr.Pawan Kumar emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills alongside academic knowledge. He motivated the students to take advantage of training opportunities, experiment with low-cost mushroom cultivation techniques, and consider agri-entrepreneurship as a viable career path. His success story, from a beginner to a well-established mushroom producer, deeply inspired the students. The visit proved to be a valuable learning experience, fostering entrepreneurial thinking and highlighting the potential for income generation through skill-based ventures in agriculture.
