Highlights
- The University Institute of Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, organized National Science Day-2025 under the supervision of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar on 27th February, 2025.
- Er. Vijay Kumar from Punjab Pollution Control Board was the chief guest for the event. The Vice Chancellor inaugurated the event with a welcome note for the keynote speaker and all participants.
- Various activities were conducted, including Quiz, E-Poster, Handmade Poster, 3D Model Presentation, Panel Discussion, and Skit Awareness. Students actively participated and showcased their talent.
- Innovative 3D models based on scientific concepts were presented. Teams explained the scientific principles behind their models, encouraging creativity, technical knowledge, and presentation skills.
- The panel discussion covered topics like “The Role of India in Science, Technology, and Innovation,” “The Science behind Organ Transplantation and Water Purification Methods,” and “The Future of Clean Water.” Students actively expressed their views and were appreciated by experts and faculty members.
- The Quiz competition tested students on various science domains. Teams were assessed on accuracy, speed, clarity, teamwork, and audience engagement — all of which were remarkable.
- In the E-Poster competition, students presented creative PowerPoint posters on themes like advances in MRI and X-Ray, the global food crisis, and more, showcasing their technological skills.
- The Handmade Poster competition allowed students to create posters on science and technology, entrepreneurship, and global leadership. The creative outputs were highly innovative and motivating.
- In the Skit Awareness event, students performed a skit addressing the role of social stress on suicide and anxiety. The performance highlighted societal and family pressures and methods to support those at risk.
- More than 100 students participated in different activities. Expert panels evaluated the events, and the best performers were awarded first and second prizes. All participants received certificates of appreciation for their active participation.
- At the conclusion, Dr. Nisha Sharma (Director R & D) interacted with participants and appreciated their efforts and contributions.
