Activity Report

An Extension Activity on the theme “Green India Clean India” was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, UIET, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar on 10th November 2025 at Govt. High School, Bhagowal, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. This activity was conducted with the vision of promoting environmental awareness, cleanliness, and sustainable practices among school students and the local community.

A total of 5 students and 2 faculty members from the Department of Electrical Engineering actively participated in planning and executing this outreach initiative. The activity aimed to inspire young learners to adopt environmentally responsible habits and contribute meaningfully towards the national vision of a cleaner and greener India.

During the visit, students were sensitized about conserving natural resources, reducing pollution, and adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life. Interactive sessions were held to highlight the harmful effects of plastic usage, importance of waste segregation, recycling, and maintaining hygiene at school and home. Additionally, the participants were encouraged to take part in tree plantation and nurturing plant activities to increase local green cover and promote long-term environmental preservation.

The initiative also emphasized collective responsibility by involving school authorities, students, and local residents in promoting cleanliness and greenery within the community. By participating in this activity, students developed leadership skills, teamwork capabilities, and a sense of social responsibility. The extension activity contributed to national missions such as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Green India Mission by fostering positive behavioral changes among the youth.

Overall, the outreach programme created a lasting impact by spreading awareness, motivating students, and initiating visible actions towards maintaining a clean and green environment. The Department of Electrical Engineering, UIET, SBBSU remains committed to organizing such meaningful community-based initiatives in the future as well.
