Engineers Day 2025 - UIET
1. Introduction
Engineers’ Day is celebrated across India every year on 15th September to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam
Visvesvaraya — one of the greatest engineers and visionaries of the nation. To honor this occasion, the University Institute of Engineering and
Technology (UIET), SBBSU, Jalandhar, organized a two-day celebration on 16th and 17th September 2025.
The celebration aimed to recognise the role of engineering in nation-building and to provide students a platform to showcase creativity,
technical knowledge and practical skills through a series of events. Faculty and students from across UIET participated enthusiastically.
2. Objectives of the Celebration
- To commemorate the contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and inspire students with his legacy.
- To provide a platform for students to present innovative ideas and technological solutions.
- To enhance problem-solving, logical reasoning, and debugging abilities through competitions.
- To encourage teamwork, leadership, and collaboration across departments.
- To bridge the gap between academic learning and industry exposure through expert lectures.
3. Details of Events
Project Idea Presentation
Coordinators: Er. Manpreet Singh, Er. Hitakshi, Er. Harmeet Kaur
Overview: Open to all departments — platform to present innovative project ideas to faculty and peers.
- Projects covered renewable energy, smart healthcare devices, IoT-based solutions, AI-driven automation, and sustainable practices.
- The event promoted creativity, research orientation, and practical feasibility.
- Judges appreciated originality, feasibility and potential social/industry impact.
Code Debugging Competition
Coordinators: Er. Neelam Rani, Er. Tejinder Kaur, Er. Hitakshi
Overview: Organized by CSE and CSE (AI & ML) — focused on programming knowledge and logical thinking.
- Participants were given faulty code snippets to analyze, debug and correct under time constraints.
- The competition assessed code efficiency, logical accuracy and time management.
- Received strong participation from students passionate about competitive programming.
PC Troubleshooting Competition
Coordinators: Er. Ramanpreet Kaur, Er. Manpreet Singh, Mr. Gurpreet Singh
Overview: Hands-on event to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues in computers.
- Tasks included OS issues, driver installation, networking errors and hardware connectivity troubleshooting.
- Students gained practical exposure to system maintenance and real-world problem solving.
- Participants demonstrated teamwork and technical confidence.
Expert Lecture Session
Speakers: Mr. Gaurav Sharma and Mr. Anoop (O7 Services, Jalandhar)

- Speakers shared professional journeys, hands-on experiences and career-growth tips.
