World Polio Day

The Department of Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, organized an awareness camp in lieu of World Polio Day (24 October) on the 26th October, 2021 (10:30 am onwards) with the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) under the supervision and patronage of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji and Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar.

The door to door awareness was carried out to sensitize the local villagers about Polio virus: its symptoms, During the camp, the villagers were sensitized about the Polio disease: Its symptoms and prevention. The students demonstrated through charts the importance of Polio vaccine for the children below 5 years. Besides the schedule of immunization was also conveyed to the villagers. Apart from polio, students also explained about the mode of infections & precautions for COVID 19 disease. The faculty and students of B.Sc Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) explained the symptoms, causes, risk management and precautions for Diabetes, Rheumatoid arthritis, Urinary tract infections through charts prepared by students. Besides, the people were made aware regarding the diet plan, exercise and the hygiene practices.
