With the heavenly blessings of Revered Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) and with the benign endorsement of our Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan Singh ji, able guidance of respected Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, under the aegis of IQAC, University Institute of Sciences have celebrated International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS-2024) on 14th February, 2024.

  • With theme Empowering Women in Scientific Endeavours Promoting Opportunities For Women in Science ” , Department of Physical Sciences & Department of Life Sciences, Allied Health Sciences and Agricultural Sciences(University Institute of Sciences) had jointly celebrated International Day of Women and Girls in Science IDWGS-2024 on 14th February,2024.
  • The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is basically implemented by UNESCO and UN-Womenin collaboration institutions and civil society partners that aim to promote women and girls in science. li>
  • This Day is an opportunity to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls.
  • As a part of the event, UIS have organized various activities: PowerPoint Presentation, Declamation, Rangoli, Card Making, Poem Recitation, Singing, Dancing based of theme of 2024 (Women & Girls Contribution in Science).
  • More than 130 Students of various disciplines of science have participated in these events.
  • In the PowerPoint presentation and Declamation, Students briefly explain biography and scientific contributions of renowned women scientists/medical professionals/academiciansin the various field of sciences.
  • Students made different patterns of Rangoli with vibrant colors. The picture left many impressive views.
  • Question/Answer session have also been conducted
  • A student from BPT discipline sang a beautiful song with his melodious voice and some students of agriculture discipline gave a fabulousdance performance.
  • The events concluded smoothly and have provided good learning as well as refreshing experiences for the students and teachers.
