Extension Activity on “Response to natural disasters”

Objectives:

• To define disaster, hazard, vulnerability and risk
• To describe the types and the causes of disasters.
• To discuss the magnitude and distribution of disasters
• To explain different phases of disasters

• The Electrical Engineering Department, UIET, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Jalandhar in collaboration with Social Welfare & Awareness Society (SWAAS), organized an extension activity on the topic “Response to natural disasters”, at Govt Senior Secondary School, Lambra, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, on 27th October, 2023.
• A total of 6 students and 2 faculty members organized the extension activity.
• The attendees were familiarized with various types and the causes of disasters, magnitude and distribution of disasters as well as different phases of disasters
