With the heavenly blessings of Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and Reverend Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), and with the benign endorsement of Honorable Chancellor Reverend Sant Baba Manmohan Singh ji, and under the valuable guidance of Honorable Vice Chancellor of SBBSU Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar ji, the Professional Development/ Administrative Training Programmes (Committee for Teaching Staff) under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU has organized the second event of the Impact Orientation Series: Orientation about Sports and Research and Development at SBBSU on 30th September 2023 (Saturday) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The first resource person Dr. Randhir Singh Pathania, Director of Sports, SBBSU highlighted the various aspects of sports and the organization of sports events at the university. Dr. Pathania discussed in detail all the individual and team-based games available for the students. He also discussed the various strategies that should be opted by every teacher to inculcate sportsmanship among students. The lecture was highly commendable and provided valuable information to all the faculty members and made them familiar with the sports department of the University.
The next Resource Person of the day Dr. Vikas Sharma, Director of Research and Development at the University discussed the meaning of effective research and various research methodologies. Along with it he also guided the faculty members, especially non-doctorates about the various research projects for which seed money is provided by the university and Government Aids which is available to promote research among teaching faculties. This Session was very insightful and informative for all the faculty members. He also encouraged the faculty members to publish qualitative research papers in UGC Care Listed Journals, SCOPUS, SCI Indexed Journals etc.
The program was concluded by Dr. Indu Sharma (UIS), the convener of the Committee, and the stage was handled by Er. Harjit Kaur (UICAIS) and Ms. Navneet Kaur (UIL). This event was coordinated by Dr. Varinderjit Singh (UICM). The organizing members of the event also included Dr. Gurmanik Kaur (UIET) and Dr. Harpreet Singh (UIH) from the Professional Development/ Administrative Training Programmes (Committee for Teaching Staff) and event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Anju Sood (Director, IQAC). In total 63 faculty members were present during the second orientation program conducted under the Impact Seminar Series in Seminar Hall in Block No. 5 of the University.
