The World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June each year to bring into light critical issues leading to environment degradation. This day is dedicated to encourage awareness towards the environment and motivating people to follow steps favorable for the restoration of the nature.
The Environment Sustainability and Management (ESM) Cell, SBBSU under the aegis of IQAC and IIC celebrated World Environment Day on 27th May, 2023 along with their team and students.
As birds are indicators of good environment, so the ESM cell targeted providing habitat, food and water to these feathery creatures. The theme of the event was “Let’s provide shelter to the tiny creatures” and the aim of this activity was to teach the students to show empathy towards these creatures and help them survive the scorching weather.
The students showed great enthusiasm and zeal, they donated bird nests and bird houses, feeding vessels for the birds and earthen vessels for providing drinking water. Around 18 participants became part of the event. The students themselves selected the trees in the botanical garden, SBBSU and hung nests for the birds.

Note: The event was preponed due to commencement of End semester exam from 1 June onwards.
