Plantation Drive By Students

On the Occasion of “WORLD DAY FOR NATURAL DISASTER REDUCTION” the Environment Sustainability and Management Cell, SBBSU under the supervision of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and Vice Chancellor Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar under the aegis of IQAC organized a “PLANTATION DRIVE BY STUDENTS” on 13th October, 2021. In order to inculcate the feeling of belongingness towards the environment, the students of various departments were motivated to plant tree in university campus.
The Plantation drive started around 12:00 pm. At the onset tree planting programme was initiated with a brief introduction and welcome by Dr Aksh Sharma Coordinator of ESM Cell. She has emphasized on environment protection aspect and importance of such programme in Environment Protection. On this Occasion 67 student from various departments planted tree saplings.
The students brought various saplings including Gulmohar, Acacia, Neem, Mango, Orange, Tulsi, Kadamb and Kachnaar. The students participated in the drive enthusiastically and helped each other in planting the saplings. The saplings were planted in the university ground and in botanical garden by students. The students along with the teachers also took an oath to look after the planted saplings, plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same. Some of the students also shared their experiences and shared their joy with others.
Planting of trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming. The drive was a huge success, empowering students with substantial knowledge of environment and plants. All the participants were given E-Certificates for their contribution in Plantation Drive.
