Extension Activity on “e-Vehicles”

Objectives:
- To introduce the students to the basics of electric vehicles and their future perspectives.
Highlights:

• The Electrical Engineering Department, UIET, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU), Jalandhar, organized an extension activity on the topic “e-vehicles” on 24th April, 2023, at Govt High School, Droli Khurd, Jalandhar, Punjab.
• The activity was co-ordinated by Er. Mandip Singh (Assistant Professor, EE, UIET, SBBSU) and six students of the department.
• Er. Mandip Singh shared the history of e-vehicles development in India and explained the need for e-vehicles, their benefits and drawbacks compared to conventional internal combustion engines.
• Further, he elaborated on e-vehicles driveline components and factors to be looked at the time of e-vehicles purchase.
• Battery charging and swapping technologies were also discussed along with the technical parameters.
• In the end, the future perspectives of the e-vehicles were discussed.
