With the heavenly blessings of Revered Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), the benign endorsement of Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji (Chancellor, SBBSU) and under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Dharamjit Singh Parmar (Vice-Chancellor, SBBSSU), Department of Physical Sciences, University Institute of Sciences (under the aegis of IQAC & IIC SBBSU) have successfully conducted Expert Talk on “Future Prospective of Nuclear Physics” on 16thNovember, 2022.
The resource person was Dr. H.M. Mittal, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Dr B.R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar 144 011 (Punjab) India.
Dr Mittal had vast experience in research and academics. His research areas includes nuclear structure physics, theoretical nuclear physics, and super deformed bands.
Dr. Mittal has published 28 research papers in the International journal and 22 research papers in the international conferences and 51 research papers in the National Conferences. He has also attended and presented research papers in various international conferences such as in USA, Canada, Japan, Italy, Ukraine, Germany and France.
Dr Mittal is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (I.S.T.E.), New Delhi, India, (LM-28414), Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) Membership No.2721 (LM 4042) and Life member of Indian Physics Association (IPA) Membership No.GEN/LM/13018. Beside this he is technical reviewer of reputed international journals like: Indian Journal of Physics, Journal of Modern Physics E.
Expert Talk was commenced with the welcome address by Dr Nisha Sharma, Head of the Department Physical Sciences followed by the lamp lighting and floral welcome of the resource person.
There were 115 participants from different disciplines of Sciences and Engineering. Expert has provided a concrete knowledge about Nucleus, Binding Energy, Nuclear models; Nuclear shapes (normal deformation, super deformation, hyperdeformation).
Expert has provided an intensive study of super deformed bands of 193Tl using Soft Rotor Formula.
Resource person have also explained recent future advancements in Nuclear Physics with the help of different examples.
Lecture was highly informative. This Expert Talk was full of knowledge and a guiding tracking for young researchers.
Session was concluded with the Vote of thanks by Dr. Honey Sharma, Convener of Expert Talk. After concluding the lecture, a departmental visit has also been conducted. Dr Mittal has visited Physics laboratory as well.
