Date:17-11-2022

World Diabetes day is celebrated on 14th November to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Frederick Banting who co-discovered insulin alongwith Charles Best in 1922. It was first established in 1991 by the International Federation of Diabetes with the support of World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about health threats posed by diabetes.
International Diabetes Federation revealed that the number of adults living with diabetes has risen 16% globally since 2019, bringing the total number to 537 million. This number is expected to rise to 643 million by 2030 and 783 million by 2045.
