She introduced resource person and gave a brief idea about the topic. The Resource Person Dr. Roshan Lal, explained the negative effect of anger on the human body. Students’ from various departments participated enthusiastically in the event. He specifically focused on the causes and effects of anger. He explained that anger can be suppressed, and then converted or redirected. This happens when we hold in our anger, stop thinking about it, and focus on something positive. The aim is to inhibit or suppress our anger and convert it into more constructive behavior. The danger in this type of response is that if it isn’t allowed outward expression, our anger can turn inward—on ourself. Anger turned inward may cause hypertension, high blood pressure, or depression. He also explained the techniques for controlling anger. Apart from this, Dr. Roshan Lal emphasized the role of cognitive behavioral and behavioral therapy for controlling anger. He highlighted the three main approaches i.e expressing, suppressing, and calming. Expressing angry feelings in an assertive not aggressive manner is the healthiest way to express anger. The students’ response was overwhelming. Mr. Anmol Preet Pal Singh and Ms. Rajveer Kaur, Institute Coordinators (Students’ Counselling Cell) were also present. An interesting question and answer session was also there. More than 80 students were participated in the event. We received good response from students and also they gave very good feedback.
