Teacher’s Day Celebration

In India, 5th September of every year is celebrated as Teacher’s day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr S. Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned educationist and great scholar. On this auspicious day, all students of department of Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences jointly organized a function to express the respect and love towards their teachers.
The function was inaugurated with the “SARASWATI VANDANA and Lamp Lighting” by the worthy Vice Chancellor Dr (Prof.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar and Secretary, SBBMCS, S. Hardaman Singh Minhas alongwith Dean UIS, Dr Shweta Singh and all faculty members of department followed by the welcome speech by Dr Aksh Sharma, COD, Life Sciences. The guests of the day, worthy Vice Chancellor of SBBSU and Secretary, SBBSMCS were formally greeted with bouquets. The deputy dean registrar Mr Roop Singh and former Ex Registrar, Dr Dhiraj Sharma also graced the occasion. At the same time, the meritorious students of different programs running under the umbrella of department of life sciences were also felicitated with prizes.
After inaugural, the whole function was hosted and managed by the students of B.Sc MLS (5th semester). During function, the students showcased their talents by performing various activities like singing, dancing, playing musical instruments and choreography. Some of these were the solo performances:

  • The girls of BSc MLS & BSc Med, Sem 5 beautifully performed Punjabi folk dance “Bhangra”.
  • The group of students from BSc BMRIT Sem -1& 3 presented a “Play” on the theme of role of teachers in student’s life.
  • Student of BSc MLS, Sem-3 showed his talent by playing a Punjabi folk musical instrument, “SARANGI”.
  • Student, of BSc MLS (sem-3) gave a solo performance by singing a beautiful song.
  • Three students of BSc MLS one each from semester 1,3 & 5 also gave solo dance performances on different dance styles
Throughout the function, the students’ performances were beautifully intervened with the fun activities/games for teachers. The students also honoured their teachers with token of love and respect. At the conclusion, the head of the department thanked the students with motivational speech for making this day very special.
