The event started around 12:00 pm with a brief introduction and welcome note to the keynote speaker. During his lecture, he highlighted the over-exploitation of groundwater to meet the agriculture requirements by the state. Though water crisis has hit Punjab for the past over three decades, no serious efforts have been made to address this issue. Approximately 50 students from various departments attended the lecture.
The speaker beautifully conveyed the message that reduce wastage and indiscriminate use of water otherwise very soon Punjab will turn into barn land. He emphasized that water is a one of the precious entities given by nature and it should be preserved by every means. The event was a huge success, where students felt motivated and determined to contribute towards the prevention of wasting this resource.
