Engineer’s day

With the heavenly blessings of revered Sant Baba Malkit Singh ji and Sant Baba Dlawar Singh ji (Brahm ji), benign endorsement of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh ji and under the spirited leadership of worthy Vice- Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, worthy Sardar Pritpal Singh ji, Management committee member, worthy Sardar Hardaman Singh Minhas ji, Secretary, support and under the able guidance of Director IQAC and Dean UIET, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) celebrated Engineer’s day on 14th and 15th Sept., 2022. Engineers’ day commemorates the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, one of the greatest engineers of India, also known as “Father of Modern Mysore”.
First day of the event, 14th sept., 2022 was marked with number of technical events such as- Technical Quiz, Model display, PC Troubleshooting, AutoCAD design competition, Orthography in Engineering drawing, BGMI, Word puzzle and Chess competition. On the second day, 15th sept., 2022, there were Technical presentations, speeches, poems and various cultural activities, such as songs, dances and bhangra.
The occasion was graced with lamp lightening ceremony and distribution of appreciation and participation certificates to the students and the teachers who worked very hard to make this event successful. The Respected Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, through his speech explained the need of working together, he said when bunch of minds come together, an innovation takes place and imaginary structure can be transformed into reality.
Priyanka, Gurkamal and Tajinderkaur from B.Tech CSE department, were the part of anchoring committee. Gurkamal, B.Tech CSE 3rd semester, Amit Suman, B.Tech EE 7th semester and Anmol from M.Tech Civil Engineering gave speeches. Deepak Kumar, Anu and Divyanshu of B.Tech CSE 5th semester, Harmanjot Singh and Shivani of B.Tech ME 3rd semester, Pratiksha of B.Tech CSE 3rd semester, Manisha of B.Tech CSE 1st semester gave technical presentations. Kirandeep Kaur, B.Tech CSE 7th semester came forward with a beautiful poem. Akhil Joria of B.Tech Civil Engg. 5th semester and Davinder Singh of B.Tech CSE 5th semester presented song. Pahul and Nikhil Sidhu, B.Tech CSE 5th semester, Jakaran, B.Tech EE 3rd semester, Akhil Joria, B.Tech CE 5th semester, Jaspreet Kaur and Deeksha from B.Tech CSE 7th semester presented Bhangra and Dance. All events played a very vital role in bringing out the significance of Engineer’s day.
At the end of the event, vote of thanks was given by Dr. Jagdeep Kaur, Head of CSE dept. and Dy. Dean UIET.
