Awareness Drive on" Public Health Disease & Hygiene practices"

With the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) under the supervision and patronage of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar, the Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences (UIS) under the aegis of IQAC organized Awareness Drive entitled "Public Health Disease & Hygiene practices" in Dera Sant Baba Bhag Singh Jabbar, Village Manko, Distt. Jalandhar on 16th March 2022 in collaboration with Dasmesh Youth Club Village Bagewal Gujjran, Hoshiarpur.
The motive of this event was to spread awareness regarding various Public Health Disease, Importance of booster dose for Covid 19 and various hygiene practices. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Dr Shweta Singh (Coordinator, Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences), Ms. Sonia Sharma (Assistant Professor, Life Sciences & Allied Health Sciences.
During awareness drive, the target community was the visitors of Dera Sahib. Students and faculty of Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences made them aware regarding Covid 19, its spread, symptoms and prevention measures. With the help of charts and posters they also demonstrated the steps for hygiene practices and sanitation to the locals. Students also explained the importance of immunization to the people visiting and encouraged them to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Various basic diagnostic tests especially the blood tests and its significance were elaborated. Furthermore, students discussed about diabetes, its signs and symptoms, and the diet that should be followed to prevent the ill effects of this disease. The listeners valued the information provided during the campaign. Gurudwara committee members honored all faculty members & appreciated the effort of students of SBBSU for organizing this camp.
