The consumer movement marks 15th March with World Consumer Rights Day every year, as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights and needs. Celebrating the day is a chance to demand that the rights of all consumers are respected and protected, and to protest against market abuses and social injustices which undermine those rights.
The RED-X club of Department of Commerce, UICM has celebrated World Consumer Rights Day on March 15, 2022.
The event was started around 1:30 pm with the presence of more than 50 students. The Red X club member Ms. Jasreen Kaur student of M.Com 4th semester started the event with welcome speech. After that the Group Discussion started on “How to protect consumer rights”. About 15 students participated in group discussion. Mr. Lovepreet Negi apprised the students of the history of World Consumer Day and Dr. Manoj Kumar told the students about various aspects of the Consumer Protection Act. This event was a great success.
