Plantation Drive

Department of Physical Sciences, University Institute of Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) have organized “ Plantation Drive” in village Manko on 3rd March 2022. Dr. Nisha Sharma (Coordinator, Physical Sciences, Dr Mithu Maiti Jana (Co-Coordinator, Physical Sciences), Ms Meena(Assistant Professor, Physical Sciences) along with faculty of UIS have conducted this drive. Students and faculty of Physical sciences have conducted Plantation at Manko village at different places. Various medicinal plants such as Neem, Hibiscus have been planted. During this drive, students and faculty have also signified the importance of plantation and protection of our environment. They have also motivated the villagers to plant more a more trees to safeguard the natural habitats of various indigenous birds, animals which are integral part of our environment. Students have guided the locals regarding management of water sources, single use plastic; how to segregate and recycle plastic in the form of useful decorative and other materials. This awareness campaign is very fruitful for all and is highly appreciated by the villagers. Villagers and Sarpanch of the village have honored all faculty members & appreciate the effort of students of SBBSU for organizing such activities. Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) have appreciated the efforts of SBBSU and honored the department with award of appreciation for the plantation drive.

Punjab Football Assosiation(PFA) ਵੱਲੋਂ AIFF Referees Development Course ਕਰਵਾਇਆ

In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest of the Day, Prof. (Dr.) Adarsh Pal Vig, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, mentioned that “Be part of the plan” is the theme of this year's International Day for Biological Diversity, which is marked on May 22, urging collective efforts across countries and sectors. NCC UNIT of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Jalandhar organized an Extension Activity in Khanaura village.
