The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Science Engineering (AI & ML), under the aegis of UIET, SBBSU, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant and culturally enriching celebration of Teej Festival to mark the onset of the monsoon — a festival symbolic of sisterhood, joy, tradition, and feminine grace.
This initiative aimed to foster cultural pride among students and provide a platform to showcase creativity and traditional skills through competitive and fun-filled events.

The celebration featured four main cultural competitions designed to highlight traditional arts, personal expression, and confidence.
Students displayed intricate and creative mehndi designs reflecting cultural richness and individual skill.
Participants showcased flair for fashion and design through colorful, well-executed nail art.
Students demonstrated elegant and creative hairstyles combining style and tradition.
The highlight event celebrated traditional grace, attire, and self-expression. Contestants were judged on appearance, confidence, cultural presentation, and communication.
The panel of judges — Er. Ramanpreet Kaur and Er. Gurjit Kaur — ensured fairness and provided constructive feedback that encouraged participants and elevated the quality of performances.
The event received an overwhelming response from students of both departments. Participants showed enthusiasm, team spirit, and commitment. The audience contributed to a lively atmosphere with cheering and encouragement.
The seminar hall was decorated with traditional Punjabi décor, and the celebration included traditional music, folk dance snippets, and colorful attire which added to the festive ambiance.
The Teej celebration was a grand success, achieving its goal of promoting cultural values while engaging students in a joyful and meaningful way. It provided a refreshing break from academics and created lasting memories for attendees.
The Department extends heartfelt thanks to the Dean, UIET and the university administration for their continuous support and encouragement.
