Event Report
⮚ Under the aegis of IQAC, IIC, University Institute of Sciences Viz Department of Physical Sciences, SBBSU organized an activity on ‘World Environment day : Earth First , Rooted in Responsibility, Committed to the Environment.’
⮚ Aim of the activity was to create awareness among students about the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. The activities were organized to encourage students to develop eco-friendly habits, understand environmental issues, and promote the message of sustainable living. The event also aimed to inspire students to actively participate in conserving nature and maintaining a clean and green environment for future generations.
⮚ Under this activity, a group of about 09 students participated.
⮚ The Activity was managed and executed by faculty members Dr. Sonia Bansal, Arwinder Kaur and Ms. PrabhjotKaur , Physical Sciences.
⮚ World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and active participation by students and teachers. The main objective of the event was to spread awareness about environmental protection and encourage students to adopt eco-friendly habits. Various activities such as Poster Making, Quiz Competition, and Speech Competition were organized on this occasion. The primary objective of the activity was to spread awareness about environmental protection and conservation among students and encourage students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
⮚ A poster making competition was conducted to encourage creativity and environmental awareness among students. Participants prepared attractive and meaningful posters on themes like “Save Earth,” “Go Green,” “Stop Pollution,” and “Plant More Trees.” Students used vibrant colors and innovative ideas to convey important environmental messages. The activity helped students express their concern for nature through art.
⮚ After that an environmental quiz competition was organized to test students knowledge about environmental issues, climate change, biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable development. Students participated enthusiastically and answered questions with confidence. The quiz created awareness and improved students’ understanding of current environmental challenges.
⮚ Such activity could enhance the understanding of social needs, fostering a spirit of compassion and social responsibility among young generation which could develop understanding of human values and responsibility toward society of every citizen. Such interactions will inspire students to become agents of positive change in their communities.
