Activity Report
The seminar aimed to create awareness about emerging digital technologies and their role in transforming conventional farming into smart and precision-based agriculture.
The program witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and 35 students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. Six expert speakers (Dr. Satish, Dr. Phogat, Dr. Pradeep Sherawat, Dr. Shalu Vyas and Dr. Vikrant Jaryan) delivered lectures covering various dimensions of AI applications in agriculture.
The first speaker elaborated on the basic concepts of AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. The lecture highlighted how AI systems process agricultural data to improve productivity and efficiency.
Key Highlights:The second session focused on precision agriculture tools such as GPS mapping, drones, IoT sensors, and remote sensing technologies. The speaker explained how these tools help in site-specific crop management.
Key Highlights:The third lecture emphasized AI-based image recognition systems for early detection of plant diseases and pests. Demonstrations of mobile-based diagnostic applications were shared.
Key Highlights:The fourth speaker discussed AI-driven robotics used in sowing, weeding, and harvesting operations. The session highlighted how automation reduces labor dependency and enhances operational efficiency.
Key Highlights:The fifth session focused on the use of predictive analytics and weather forecasting models to manage climate risks. The speaker explained how AI supports sustainable farm planning.
Key Highlights:The final session covered the importance of big data and AI-based farm management platforms. The speaker discussed market forecasting tools and digital advisory services for farmers.
Key Highlights:An interactive discussion was conducted at the end of the seminar. Participants raised queries related to AI adoption challenges, infrastructure requirements, and practical field implementation. The speakers provided valuable suggestions and encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration between agriculture and computer science.
