Activity Report
Under the aegis of IQAC and IIC, a Blood Donation Camp was organized to observe the National Voluntary Blood Donor Day on September 30, 2025, with the objective of promoting the spirit of voluntary blood donation and raising awareness about its life-saving importance.
The event was jointly conducted by the Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar. The initiative aimed to highlight the humanitarian value of voluntary blood donation and the importance of saving lives through this noble act.
In alignment with the global theme of World Blood Donor Day 2025 — “Give blood, give hope: together we save lives” — participants were encouraged to recognize the life-saving impact of their donation.
The camp commenced with an Ardaas ceremony followed by the inauguration by Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Registrar Dr. Rajinder Kumar, and Dr. Aneet Kumar, along with faculty members from all disciplines of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences.
A specialized medical team from Fortis Hospital conducted pre-donation health screenings to ensure donor eligibility and supervised the entire blood collection process under safe and hygienic conditions.
A total of 58 units of blood were collected during the camp from enthusiastic student volunteers, faculty, and staff members, many of whom were first-time donors.
All donors were provided with refreshments and certificates of appreciation as a token of gratitude for their noble contribution.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, for their professional support and to all participants for making the camp a great success.
Continuing the celebration, an Oath Taking Ceremony was held on 1st October 2025 in connection with National Voluntary Blood Donor Day 2025. The ceremony emphasized a collective pledge to support voluntary blood donation initiatives.
Donors and volunteers recited the Oath of Voluntary Blood Donation, pledging to donate regularly, promote voluntary blood donation among peers, maintain eligibility standards, and support safe blood-transfusion practices.
The initiative effectively promoted the message of compassion, solidarity, and civic responsibility, inspiring many new donors to come forward for future donation drives.
Overall, the two-day event successfully amplified the message that each individual’s contribution helps “give hope” and — together — we can “save lives.”
