2-Year Master of Education

Program-Overview:

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme is meant for candidates desirous of pursuing post-graduate programme in education. Besides preparing teacher educators, it also aims at preparing educational administrators, supervisors and researchers.
The M.Ed. programme would comprise theoretical courses including specialized courses in the discipline of education and related practical/field work including exposure to and training in a teacher education institution. In addition, research work in the form of a dissertation would form an essential part of the programme. Depending on the actual design and declared objectives, the programme provides opportunities for students to extend as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of Education, specialize in selected areas including Teacher Education and also acquire related research skills.

Eligibility & Fee Details

Eligibility:

Candidates who have obtained at least 55% Marks in the B.Ed. degree are eligible for admission.
The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of five percent marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to SC/ST Students

The post matric Scholarship to SC/ST students will be available to those students whose family income is less than 2.5 lacs per annum. The students will have to submit three sets of the following documents at the time of admission:

Attested affidavit regarding income to be submitted by student's father/guardian only.
Domicile certificate
Caste certificate issued by competent authority ; ADC/SDM/EM/Tehsildar.
Photostat copies of matric certificate and last examination passed.
Photocopy of Aadhaar card of student and parents
A copy of bank account of claimant,linked to Aadhaar card and with IFSC code.
One passport size photograph.

If a student fail to fulfill the following conditions, he will have to pay all the fee from his/her own resources for the period of their study at the university:

The student does not complete his/her course of study at the university and leaves in between. OR
The student does not attend 75% of the lectures in all subjects. OR
The student does not pass an examination of any semester.
Note:

Claimant/ student is herself/himself responsible for applying online for SC Scholarship by last date notified by university every year. The university will only facilitate the students in applying online. The students who fails to apply for Scholarship online by the stipulated date, will have to deposit the fee.
Student who after passing one stage of education get admission in the same stage of education in different subjects will not be eligible for post matric Scholarship scheme to SC/ST students.
If the Scholarship is not sanctioned by the government even after applying for the same, the student will have to deposit the full fee.

The Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF), USA Scholarship is a need-cum-merit scholarship offered to deserving and economically weaker students of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University by the SHDF, USA. Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF), USA Scholarship. Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF) provides scholarships in a variety of disciplines for higher professional education to bright students from low-income families in Punjab and other Northern Indian states. Eligible students will be notified by the University regarding the opening of the scholarship application process. Eligible students are required to submit their applications along with the following mandatory documents: Income Certificate (annual family income not exceeding ₹3,00,000) Residence Certificate Detailed Marks Card (DMC) of the previous qualifying examination Copy of Class 10 Certificate Copy of Class 12 Certificate Copy of Graduation Degree/Certificate (where applicable) Any other document required Applications submitted without the requisite documents or after the prescribed deadline shall not be considered for the scholarship.
