The University Institute of Law, under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU and in collaboration with DLSA, organized a Tree Plantation Drive to celebrate World Environment Day on 5th June 2025. The event aimed to encourage students to reflect upon and actively participate in environmental and social activities.

This significant event was organized with the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Braham Ji) and under the constant motivation of Sant Baba ManMohan Singh Ji, Chancellor, SBBSU. The drive was held under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, the administrative support of Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Vikas, and the academic stewardship of Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, Dean Academics.

The event was coordinated under the able guidance of Dr. Pooja Bali, Dean, University Institute of Law, who served as the Convenor of the initiative.

Theme: “Restore Our Earth – One Tree at a Time”

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the University Institute of Law, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar conducted a Tree Plantation Drive within the university premises and nearby areas. The event underscored the institute's commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable living.

Event Highlights

Over 200 law students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive. More than 150 saplings of Neem, Peepal, Gulmohar, and Amaltas were planted in and around the campus.

The initiative was aimed at enhancing the green cover and instilling ecological responsibility among participants. Each sapling was assigned to a student for regular care and monitoring to ensure the long-term impact of the activity.

The event concluded with a powerful message: every small step counts in the collective effort to combat climate change and protect our environment.

The University Institute of Law remains committed to environmental stewardship and will continue to promote green initiatives that contribute to a healthier and sustainable future.
