The University Institute of Law, under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU and in collaboration with organized a Workshop (Guest Lecture) in Seminar Hall, Block V to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, which reminded us that education is not merely about textbooks and exams, but about understanding life, society, and our role within it. The event was held on 04thAugust, 2025, with the aim of encouraging students to reflect upon and creatively express the values and ideals championed by practical knowledge and expertise.
This significant event was organized with the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Braham Ji), and under the constant motivation of Sant Baba ManMohan Singh Ji, Chancellor, SBBSU. The event was held under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, and the academic stewardship of Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, Dean Academics, who all played instrumental roles in shaping the success of this initiative.
Dr. Khanna has had an illustrious career dedicated to public service, social responsibility, and policymaking at the highest levels. Beyond the political arena, he is widely known for his work in human rights, education, and civic engagement. His contributions have always reflected a deep commitment to the nation and to empowering the next generation
The event was seamlessly coordinated under the visionary leadership of **Dr. Pooja Bali**, Dean of the University Institute of Law, who served as the **Convener**. Her unwavering commitment to fostering legal awareness and academic excellence was evident in every aspect of the programme, setting the tone for a meaningful and enriching experience.
Centered around the theme Bringing Practical Experience to the Classroom, the competition served as a vibrant platform for students from diverse academic backgrounds to showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and social consciousness. Their presentations demonstrated not only an impressive grasp of legal principles, particularly in **Criminal and Civil pleadings**, but also a profound sense of “empathy and justice”.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the students and faculty members’ deep-rooted dedication to the democratic ideals enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Their performances exemplified a dynamic blend of academic rigor and real-world insight. The proceedings culminated in a thought-provoking address by the esteemed dignitaries, who commended the participants for their exceptional talent, legal acumen, and social sensitivity. A heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr.Pooja Bali , Dean /UIL was extended to the university management, the dedicated organizing team, the participating faculty members, students, and Dr. Avinash Rai Khanna, whose invaluable support played a pivotal role in the resounding success of the event.
A special mention goes to the Co-Conveners Assistant Professors of the University Institute of Law whose meticulous planning, dedicated efforts, and flawless execution ensured a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.
