3rd Convocation

The 3rd Convocation of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University was held on Saturday, March 18, 2023. The Convocation began with a majestic and grand Academic Procession graced by the Reverend Chancellor, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji, Respected Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji, Vice President, Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Educational Complex, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjeet Singh Parmar, Dr. Ravjot Singh, MLA, Sham Chaurasi, Secretary to the Management Committee, S. Hardaman Singh Minhas, Members S. Pritpal Singh, Shri Sunil Vats, S. Parmjeet Singh, S. Kulwant Singh, S. Amarjeet Singh, S. Harjinder Singh, S. Paramjeet Singh, S. Joginder Singh Ajrham and other dignitaries. The ceremony saw its auspicious starting with Shabad Gayan by Mr. Kailash, Assistant Prof. of Music, and his students Samta, Gurleen etc. A warm welcome was extended to the guests, the officials and others and bouquets were presented to them.
The Convocation was formally declared open by the Reverend Chancellor, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji. In his emotional words of blessings he expressed his pleasure to observe the grand ceremony and reminded the vision and pious wishes of Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Brahm Ji.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Parmar, in his address, gave a brief historical account of convocation and its tradition in the UK and the USA. He touched upon the developments and achievements of the University. Among other remarkable things he mentioned that the University is under process of NAAC accreditation. He added that the university is a home to more than 3,500 students from various states of the country. The University has been visited by several eminent personalities from India and abroad. Around 400 research papers have been published by the faculty members in journals of national and international repute. In the end he appreciated the hard work of the students and congratulated them on their receiving degrees.
The Chief Guest of the event was S. Jai Kishan Singh Raurhi Ji, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assembly who in his address mentioned the glorious words of Gurbani, “Vidya Vichari Ta Parupkari” to highlight the significance of education. His words inspired, encouraged and congratulated the students.
Then the most awaited moments of the Convocation Ceremony were when the degrees were conferred upon the graduands. Dr. Aneet Kumar, Dean Academics, called upon those who were to be conferred upon their respective degrees as Ph.D., M. Phil. by the Chancellor. Other respective Deans called upon the graduands for various degrees that were conferred upon by the Chancellor, Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji.
Total 16 Ph.D., 6 M.Phil., 282 Post Graduate, and 974 Under Graduate Certificated/Degrees were awarded.
The formal vote of thanks was extended by Training and Placement In-charge Dr. Sandeep Kaur Randhawa who expressed her heartfelt thanks to the guests, officials, staff members, guardians, students and others for their coordination, cooperation, and support to make the event really a grand success.
The Convocation witnessed its completion with National Anthem.
The task of anchoring was performed by Dr. Harpreet Singh and Ms. Surinder Kaur with all their energy, efficiency and excellence.
