Number of students participated in such activities:18 (campsite Padhiana) + 15 (in SBBSU campus) + 6 (in laboratory to assist teachers in sample processing and report generation) = 39

World Health Day 2025 – Two-Day Health Camp Report

The Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences organized a two-day Health Camp in collaboration with Guru Nanak Sadh Sangat Charitable Hospital, Village Kalra, Dist. Jalandhar. The event aimed to promote preventive healthcare and raise awareness about common health issues in celebration of World Health Day 2025.

Day 1: 7th April 2025

Location: Adoptive Village Padhiana and SBBSU Campus

The camp was conducted in coordination with the village Sarpanch and Gurudwara authorities. It included awareness announcements and logistical support. Services provided included:

General Health Check-Up
Blood Pressure & Sugar Level Screening
Blood Glucose Testing (Fasting and Random)
CBC and routine biochemical investigations (Urea, Creatinine, Uric acid, TG, Cholesterol, Calcium)
Serological Tests: ABO Blood Grouping, CRP, Widal, RA
Gynecology and Women’s Health Counselling
Dietary & Lifestyle Advice
Physiotherapy Consultation

Outcomes:

43 villagers benefited
Free health services and test reports provided
Support and refreshments provided by local authorities
52 university non-teaching staff also examined and counseled for diabetic management

Day 2: 8th April 2025

Location: SBBSU Campus

88 students, teaching, and non-teaching staff were provided health check-ups and counseling
All diagnostics and consumables funded by SBBSU

Conclusion: The 2-day Health Camp was a successful and impactful initiative, promoting health and wellness among underprivileged communities and university stakeholders alike.
