Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, organized the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect
Programme under the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, which commenced with an inspiring
address by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh, emphasizing the pivotal role of
youth in nation-building. Sakshi Sharma, the Youth Icon, motivated students to embrace
innovation, leadership, social responsibility, and community service while encouraging them
to register on the My Bharat Portal. The programme was organized by Mr. Virender Kumar,
Nodal Officer, NSS & Red Ribbon Club, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate,
NSS, Chandigarh. The event highlighted the objectives of the NSS and Red Ribbon Club,
promoting volunteerism, youth empowerment, health awareness, and active community
engagement. It concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming SBBSU's commitment to
nurturing responsible citizens dedicated to realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Ms. Sakshi Sharma, a dynamic educator, youth leader, and motivational speaker from Punjab,
addressed the gathering as the Youth Icon, inspiring students through her journey of
academic excellence and leadership. An Assistant Professor of English and former IELTS &
Language Trainer, she secured 3rd position in M.A. English Literature under Guru Nanak
Dev University. She proudly represented Punjab at the Parliament of India in 2024 and 2025
under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and served as the Anchor of the Viksit Bharat
Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. She also
participated as a youth delegate at the G20 Youth Summit in Amritsar. An accomplished NSS
'C' Certificate Holder, she led over 200 NSS volunteers during the National Integration Camp
in Andhra Pradesh. She has represented Punjab at the National Youth Festivals in Karnataka
(2023), Nashik (2024), and New Delhi (2025 & 2026), reflecting her unwavering
commitment to youth empowerment, leadership, and nation-building.
Ms. Sakshi Sharma delivered an insightful presentation on Prime Minister Shri Narendra
Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, highlighting the transformative role of youth in
building a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive India. She emphasized the importance of
innovation, entrepreneurship, digital empowerment, sustainable development, and social
responsibility as the pillars of nation-building. Encouraging students to become active
contributors, she urged them to participate in national initiatives through the My Bharat
Portal and community service. Her inspiring address motivated the audience to develop
leadership qualities, embrace civic responsibility, and contribute meaningfully towards
achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Ms. Neha delivered an inspiring and informative address on the My Bharat Portal,
highlighting its significance as a platform for empowering youth and fostering active
participation in nation-building. She explained the portal's role in connecting young people
with volunteering opportunities, skill development programmes, and community initiatives.
She encouraged students to register on the portal and actively contribute to social and
national causes. Her engaging presentation motivated the audience to harness their potential
and become responsible citizens committed to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The programme concluded with a formal message delivered by Mr. Ankush Nijhawan from
the Office of the Regional Directorate, NSS, Chandigarh. He expressed sincere gratitude to
the Vice-Chancellor, distinguished speakers, faculty members, volunteers, and students for
their enthusiastic participation and support. He appreciated Sant Baba Bhag Singh University
for successfully organizing the programme and promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The event ended on a patriotic note, reaffirming the collective commitment of the youth
towards nation-building and national development.
The success of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Mr.
Virender Kumar, Nodal Officer, NSS & Red Ribbon Club, Dr. Shalu Vyas, Nodal Officer,
Viksit Bharat, and Dr. Amita Dhawan, Nodal Officer, My Bharat Portal. They performed
their assigned responsibilities with utmost sincerity, commitment, and professionalism
throughout the event. Their effective coordination ensured the smooth planning and flawless
execution of every session. They worked closely with the university administration, faculty
members, and volunteers to make the programme meaningful and well-organized. Their
collective efforts inspired enthusiastic participation from students and contributed
significantly to the success of the event. The programme concluded as a grand success,
reflecting Sant Baba Bhag Singh University's commitment to youth empowerment and the
vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
