To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), SBBSU organized a Debate Competition on 31st October 2025. The event aimed to celebrate the vision, leadership, and unity promoted by Sardar Patel, while encouraging students to express their ideas and perspectives on topics of national and social significance.

“Role of Youth in Preserving National Unity and Integrity in the Digital Era.”
This topic encouraged participants to reflect on how modern technology and social media influence unity, diversity,
and patriotism among the youth.
A total of 50 students from B.Tech CSE and CSE (AI & ML) actively participated in the competition. Participants were divided into 4 teams — For and Against the Motion. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students presenting strong, well-researched opinions supported by facts and examples. Their arguments reflected awareness of current national and global issues, along with thoughtful insights into how the youth can play a constructive role in promoting harmony and unity.
The event was graced by the presence of Er. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Gurpreet Singh, who motivated the students with their encouraging words and appreciated the efforts of the participants for their enthusiastic involvement in the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Er. Hitakshi, who appreciated the active participation of students and encouraged them to embody the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — unity, integrity, and dedication towards nation-building. The Debate Competition not only enriched students’ knowledge and oratory skills but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility towards maintaining national harmony in an increasingly digital world.
