Activity Report
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized a Rakhi Making and E-Greeting Card Competition on 8th August 2025 to celebrate the spirit of the Raksha Bandhan festival and encourage creativity among students. The event was organized by Er. Hitakshi, Departmental Activity Incharge, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Jagdeep Kaur, Dean UIET and Head, Department of CSE.
The main objective of this event was to nurture artistic expression, traditional values, and innovative design skills among students while fostering cultural awareness within the department.
The celebration of Raksha Bandhan, symbolizing the bond of protection and affection between brothers and sisters, provided a wonderful occasion for students to exhibit their creative talents. The Rakhi Making Competition encouraged students to craft beautiful and eco-friendly rakhis, while the E-Greeting Card Competition motivated them to design digital greetings that blended creativity with technical skill.
Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, innovation, and attention to detail in their work. The event atmosphere was filled with festive spirit and friendly competition, making the lab vibrant and joyous.
A large number of students from B.Tech CSE and B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) first year participated actively in both competitions. Each entry reflected creativity, cultural values, and individuality.
Both winners were appreciated for their outstanding efforts and unique artistic vision.
The event was graced by Er. Neelam and Er. Harmeet Kaur, who motivated participants with encouraging words. The competition was judged by Er. Ramanpreet, who evaluated entries based on creativity, neatness, innovation, presentation, and theme relevance.
The judges appreciated the studentsโ dedication and creativity, commending their ability to merge traditional celebration with artistic innovation.
The entire event was coordinated by Er. Hitakshi, Departmental Activity Incharge. Under her guidance, the event ran smoothly and successfully. The Computer Lab, Block No. 5 was beautifully decorated, creating a festive environment that uplifted everyoneโs spirit. Faculty members and student volunteers also contributed actively to ensure smooth execution and equal encouragement for all participants.
The Rakhi Making and E-Greeting Card Competition was a delightful and memorable event that celebrated the essence of Raksha Bandhan while providing students with an opportunity to express their creativity, cultural values, and artistic potential.
Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Jagdeep Kaur, Dean UIET and Head, Department of CSE, the event successfully achieved its aim of promoting student engagement, cultural awareness, and holistic development. The department looks forward to organizing more such creative and culturally enriching activities in the future.
