Activity Report

Under the aegis of IQAC, The CME on World Radiology Day in collaboration with ISRT was organized by the Discipline of Radiology, Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences to commemorate the contributions of radiology to healthcare with a focus on the current year’s theme: "Radiology: A Pillar of Patient Safety and Quality Care." This event served as a platform for bringing together healthcare professionals, radiology students, and experts to discuss the advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the field of radiology. The Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT) is a premier national organization dedicated to advancing the field of radiological technology in India. As a key partner in the CME, ISRT provided valuable expertise and support, with their esteemed members, including Mr. Mohan Lal Bhagwat (President ISRT) and Dr. Daniel K.J. (National Secretary ISRT) by playing pivotal roles as speakers and moderators. The CME witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, students, and esteemed guests, with sessions tailored to enhance both theoretical knowledge and practical insights. The event highlighted the role of radiology in improving diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and healthcare quality.

Highlights of the Event 1. Opening Ceremony: The event commenced with a welcome address by the organizing committee, emphasizing the importance of radiology in modern healthcare systems. 2. The CME on World Radiology Day was strategically organized into two primary segments to optimize engagement and learning outcomes.

Inaugural Session (Pre-Lunch): The session commenced with a traditional prayer; Shabad Gayan and the Lamp Lighting Ceremony in the presence of the worthy Vice-chancellor: Prof.(Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, S.Hardaman Singh Minhas (Secretary, SBBSMCS), Dr. Vijay Dhir (Dean Academics), Dr. Aneet Kumar (Registrar) Dr. Shweta Singh (Dean UIS), Dr. Nisha Sharma (Director R & D), HOD/CODs and faculty members of the Department. Dr. Chetna Sharma (Co-convenor of CME) formally welcomed the guests and provided their introduction as well as the technical schedule of the CME. The event was inaugurated with lamp All the invited speakers were felicitated with bouquets and mementos as a token of gratitude. 3. The esteemed guests present on the day were Mr. Mohan Lal Bhagwat (President ISRT), Dr. Daniel K.J. (National Secretary ISRT), Mrs. Manjinder Dhanoa (Sr. Tutor cum RSO, CMC Ludhiana), and Mr. Randhir Singh Doad (General Secretary, ISRT Punjab). 4. A formal release of the CME brochure by the dignitaries marked the official opening of the event. 5. The CME was conducted in blended mode (offline and online), ensuring accessibility for participants from various institutions.

Technical Session (Post-Lunch): 6. This session featured a series of expert talks, oral presentations, and interactive activities. 7. Esteemed speakers, including Mr. Mohan Lal Bhagwat, Dr. Daneil KJ, Ms. Manjider Dhanao, Mr. Radhir Doad, and Mr. Burhan Bashir, delivered insightful talks. They discussed the NCAHP (National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professionals) bill which was passed in Raj Sabha 2020, the Introduction of ISRT in which goals and journey were stated, various aspects of radiological advancements, patient-centric care, and the integration of technology in diagnostics and main focus was on 8. The event provided a platform for participants to interact with experts and peers, fostering collaborations and sharing experiences in radiology practice. 9. Students from GNA University, CMC Ludhiana, SVIET College Banur, CGC Jhanjheri, TMU Moradabad and Golden Group of Institutions Gurdaspur actively participated in the event. 10. Oral presentations and skits by students from participating institutions, emphasizing practical applications of radiology. 11. An engaging quiz for participants to test their knowledge in radiology and related sciences was conducted 12. These students presented posters and working models, showcasing their creativity and understanding of Radiology-related themes. 13. The CME witnessed enthusiastic participation from 176 Radiology students from different institutions, who actively engaged in discussions and posed insightful questions about the practical applications, challenges and importance of the ISRT Council. 14. The participants and winners of the best posters, models, and quiz were Acknowledged and felicitated with prizes and certificates. Awards were distributed by dignitaries, appreciating the effort and talent of students 15. The resource persons praised the students' enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication in presenting high-quality posters and models, as well as their insightful participation in discussions. 16. The chief guests and resource persons expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the organizing committee and the active involvement of students and faculty, which contributed to the event’s success. 17. The overall the event was very informative and inspiring and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Younis Ahmed Hajam.
