The event aimed to educate students about the significance of organ donation, raise awareness about the ethical and legal aspects, and provide insights into the role of healthcare professionals in organ transplantation. It also aimed to clarify myths and misconceptions, highlight medical advancements, and introduce governing bodies that regulate organ donation in India.
Ms. Poonam Koundal, Transplant Coordinator from Shrimann Super Speciality Hospital, served as the resource person. She delivered an insightful session covering various aspects of organ donation.
The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from 127 students from various UG and PG programs such as MRIT, MLS, and AOTT. Students engaged in meaningful discussions and raised questions about organ donor eligibility, preservation techniques, and the future of transplantation.
Many students expressed a keen interest in spreading awareness about organ donation.
The session proved to be a highly interactive and enriching experience. It equipped students with essential knowledge about organ donation, including ethical and legal considerations and the critical role of healthcare professionals in this life-saving practice.
