CELEBRATION ON INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY

The University Institute of Law, under the aegis of IQAC, SBBSU and in collaboration with DLSA, organized Celebrated International Labour day the International Labour Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect to honor the contributions of workers across all sectors. The event highlighted the importance of labor rights, fair working conditions, and the dignity of work. Various activities such as speeches, cultural performances, and awareness programs were organized to mark the occasion. Students and teachers participated actively, showing their appreciation for the efforts of workers who form the backbone of society. The celebration served as a reminder of the historical struggles of the labor movement and emphasized the need to continue working towards equality and justice for all workers.to commemorate the encouraging a more informed and responsible citizenry. with the aim of encouraging students to reflect upon and creatively express the values and ideals. This significant event was organized with the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Braham Ji), and under the constant motivation of Sant Baba ManMohan Singh Ji, Chancellor, SBBSU. The competition was held under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar, the administrative support of Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Vikas, and the academic stewardship of Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir, Dean Academics, who all played instrumental roles in shaping the success of this initiative. The program was also conducted under the aegis of Organizing unit/agency collaborating agency: University Institute of law/UnderAegis of IQAC & District Legal Service Authority, Jalandhar/NSS, which enriched the event with its legal outreach and commitment to constitutional values. Their collaboration added further credibility and legal insight to the students’ artistic and intellectual efforts. The event was coordinated under the able guidance of Dr. Pooja Bali, Dean, University Institute of Law, who served as the Convenor of the competition. Her unwavering dedication to promoting legal awareness and academic excellence was evident throughout the event. The Co-Convenors, whose meticulous planning and execution ensured a seamless experience for all participants, included: • Ms. Manjot Kaur Mr. Girija Nand Ms. Navdeep Kaur • Mr. Harinder Singh Ms. Amandeep Kaur Ms. Sapna Rani On that day University Institute of Law organized Expert Lecture on CELEBRATION ON INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY An expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Pooja Bali on the topic "The Role of Workers in Nation Building and the Rights and Welfare of Laborers." In her insightful session, Dr. Bali emphasized the crucial contribution of workers in the development and progress of the nation. She highlighted how every sector—be it agriculture, industry, or services—relies on the dedication and hard work of labourers. Dr. Bali also spoke about the constitutional and legal rights of workers, including the right to fair wages, safe working conditions, and social security benefits. She encouraged students to be aware of labour rights and to advocate for dignity and justice for all workers. The lecture was highly informative and inspiring, helping participants understand the vital role of labour in nation-building and the importance of their welfare The session was highly informative and helped students understand the importance of legal safeguards for workers in Industrial spaces. A heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Law was extended to the management, organizing team, participating students, and the DLSA for their unwavering support in making the event a grand success.
