Brief Description of the Activity

The Department of Management and Hotel Management of University Institute of Commerce and Management, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar has organized “Sustainable Livelihoods & Community Enterprises” Eco-System Based Startups” under the aegis of IQAC and IIC, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, the event was inaugurated by the Expert of the day Mr. Sarabjit Singh (Regional Manager, from IBM Jalandhar Branch). The expert briefly explained key definitions, significance of the sustainability and livelihood in the economy, after the introductory speech the expert throws the light on startup ideas mainly focuses on the ecosystem and sustainable development. In the session the expert explains the various methods and steps needed to be taken for choosing the entrepreneur over the job in long-run.

Additionally, the major focus of the session was on eco-based startup ideas which helps to sustain the environment and minimizing the natural resources in the enterprise.

In the second session, 2nd expert of the day Ms. Sangeeta commences the session with the recycle-based sustainable business ideas such as Temple flower recycles, bamboo-based startup ideas, solar energy-based startups etc., along with the practical examples and case studies of the successful running startups. Furthermore, the expert discusses the various schemes provided by the GOI for boost up these kinds of startups.

Conclusion

In the conclusion the session focused on eco-system sustainable based startup ideas, in the session experts discussed about the various opportunities and schemes for the boosting up of the startups by government of India.
