CELEBRATION OF SOCIAL JUSTICE DAY ON TOPIC SOCIAL JUSTICE IN THE ERA OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Continuing with the legacy of providing quality education to the students especially from rural areas SBBS University endeavors to organize, training programs, seminars, conferences, workshops for the students in the premises of SBBS university, University institute of law, with the heavenly blessing of Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Braham ji), and constant motivation of Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji, Chancellor, Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Dharamjit Singh Parmar, , Registrar Dr. Vikas, able leadership Dean of UIL P Dr. Pooja Bali, , under Aegis of IQAC & District Legal Service Authority, Jalandhar. In celebration of Social Justice Day, the University Institute of Law, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, successfully organized an Essay Writing Competition on the thought-provoking theme “Social Justice in the Era of Climate Change and Digital Transformation” on 20th February, 2025. The event commenced with an inspiring welcome address delivered by Dr. Pooja Bali, Dean, UIL. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of World Day of Social Justice, observed every year on 20th February, and stressed the growing relevance of ensuring equitable access to justice in the context of rapid technological shifts and environmental challenges. The competition received enthusiastic participation from students of various semesters who presented insightful perspectives on how social justice must evolve to address contemporary global issues like climate-induced displacement, digital inequality, and inclusive development. Participants showcased their critical thinking, legal knowledge, and awareness of global trends impacting human rights and equity. The essays were evaluated by a panel of esteemed faculty members based on criteria such as originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of thought, and presentation. The winners were felicitated with certificates of appreciation and accolades for their commendable efforts. The event served as a meaningful platform to promote awareness and dialogue on the intersection of environmental sustainability, technological advancement, and social equity. It concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of participants, faculty coordinators, and organizing members for making the event a resounding success. The competition was for one hour and concluded with the efficient performance of the students. First three winners were also announced after the competition. The first is Sonali (6th Semester), 2nd is Manpreet (8th Semester) and 3rd is Deepak (4th Semester). The Competition was a great success and was successfully organized by Rishav Dogra.
