Introduction
Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” The observance
aimed to foster awareness among students, faculty, and staff regarding the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in public and personal life. The week-long series of events was organized collaboratively by the
University Institute of Engineering (UIE), University Institute of Humanities (UIH), and University Institute of Law (UIL) to sensitize young minds about their role in building a corruption-free society.
Day-wise Report
Day 1: 27th October 2025 – Inaugural Ceremony
The Vigilance Awareness Week began with a grand inaugural ceremony at the university auditorium. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished guests and faculty members, symbolizing enlightenment and integrity.

The ceremony concluded with the national anthem and a collective pledge to uphold integrity in all endeavors.
Day 2: 28th October 2025 – Rally for Awareness
A Vigilance Awareness Rally was organized from Block 3 to Block 7 of the university campus from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Students and faculty carried placards and chanted slogans promoting honesty, transparency, and accountability.
Led by: Dr. Riyaz, Dr. Ankush, Mrs. Shalu Mahey, Ms. Sakshi, Ms. Sukhmeet Kaur, and Mr. Om Parkash.
Day 3: 29th October 2025 – Quiz and Debate Competition
An Inter-Institute Quiz and Debate Competition between teams from UIE and UIH was held from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The events tested participants’ knowledge and critical thinking on corruption, governance, and ethics.
Quiz: Covered anti-corruption laws, ethical leadership, and citizens’ roles in vigilance.
Debate Topic: “Is Vigilance the Responsibility of the Individual or the System?” — which generated insightful discussions.
Judges & Coordinators: Dr. Mohan Lal, Dr. Smriti, Dr. Ankush Jasrotia, Dr. Ramez, Dr. Riyaz, Mr. Anmolpreet Singh, Mrs. Shalu Mahey, Ms. Sakshi, and Mr. Om Parkash.
Prizes and certificates were distributed to winners and participants to encourage healthy competition and learning.
Day 4: 30th October 2025 – Expert Talk
A lecture titled “Awareness of Citizens is the Only Way to End Corruption” was delivered by Mrs. Amandeep Kaur (UIL) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The talk emphasized public participation, transparency, and whistleblower protection as essential mechanisms to curb corruption.
The interactive session allowed students to raise questions and share viewpoints, resulting in a highly engaging discussion.
Day 5: 31st October 2025 – Field Visit for Awareness
A field visit was organized from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm for experiential learning. Students visited local institutions and communities to promote ethical behaviour, good governance, and integrity—bridging theory with real-world practice.

Conclusion
The Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University was a resounding success. The diverse activities—including the inaugural ceremony, rally, competitions, expert lecture, and field visit—instilled a strong sense of ethical and moral responsibility among the university community.
