Activity Report
The Department of Computer Science and Applications, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, organized an awareness program titled “Cyber Jagrit Bharat” on 23rd October 2025 in connection with the National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The event took place in Block–7 of the university and was attended by over 150 students, along with faculty members and staff from the department.
The main objective of the program was to spread awareness about the growing significance of cyber security in the digital age. With increasing dependence on technology, safeguarding personal and organizational data has become a critical concern. The initiative aimed to educate students about various aspects of cyber safety, including password management, social media security, phishing awareness, data privacy, and the responsible use of digital platforms.
The session commenced with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, who highlighted the importance of cyber literacy for every digital citizen. Demonstrations on the safe use of digital tools, browser security, and two-factor authentication techniques were also presented to enhance students’ practical understanding.
The event also aligned with the national initiative “Cyber Jagrit Bharat”, launched to create a safer and more secure digital ecosystem across India. By organizing such a program, the department contributed to the broader mission of Digital India, empowering students to become responsible users of technology and digital services.
Overall, the event proved to be a meaningful and impactful learning experience, successfully achieving its goal of promoting digital awareness and cyber safety among students of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University.
