Title: Civil Engineering Outreach: Building the Future
Organized by: Department of Civil Engineering
Target Audience: School Students
The world around us—from the roads we travel to the buildings we enter—is shaped by civil engineering. To inspire and educate the next generation of innovators, the Civil Engineering Department hosted an engaging outreach event for school students. This initiative aimed to spark curiosity and provide a hands-on glimpse into the exciting world of civil engineering.
Through interactive demonstrations, model-building activities, and real-world examples, students gained a better understanding of how civil engineering impacts their daily lives and how they can be part of building the future. By connecting theory with practice, the event encouraged students to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subjects in a creative and meaningful way.
To inspire and educate school students about the field of civil engineering by showcasing its real-world applications, promoting interest in STEM, and encouraging young minds to consider careers in civil engineering through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and engaging presentations by faculty and students of the Civil Engineering Department.
The outreach event by the Department of Civil Engineering was a dynamic and impactful initiative that successfully introduced school students to the vital field of civil engineering. Through engaging activities and expert mentoring, the event fostered a deeper appreciation for STEM education, inspired future careers in engineering, and emphasized the role of civil engineers in shaping sustainable communities.
