“ BLOOD DONATION CAMP”
Under the aegis of the IQAC and IIC, the Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, University Institute of Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, in collaboration with the Saksham Bharti Foundation and White Medical College, Pathankot, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 27 March 2025 on the university premises. The camp was inaugurated by Worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar (Vice Chancellor, SBBSU) and Dr. Vijay Dhir (Dean of Academics, SBBSU). Dr. Aneet Kumar, Dean UIE, Dr. Shweta Singh (Dean UIS), Dr. Jagdeep Kaur (Dy Dean UIET), Dr. Pooja Bali (Dean UIL), and Dr. Nirmal Kaur (Dy Dean UICAIS) were among other dignitaries who graced this occasion. The Camp commenced with the “ARDAAS,” followed by the formal welcome of the medical professionals’ team from the Saksham Bharti Foundation and the White Medical College and Hospital, Pathankot. About 86 volunteers enthusiastically donated blood in this camp out of which 31 were first time donors. Among the volunteers, many of them were university students. The youth from the nearby villages also participated in the camp as volunteers. All hospital staff members were enthralled to see the enthusiasm and passion of participating volunteers to serve humanity for the noble cause. They congratulated and appreciated the initiative and the efforts that the department has taken to serve humanity. All the volunteers were awarded with certificates and post-donation refreshments were given to them. After camp, the Vice Chancellor of SBBSU highlighted the importance of blood donation and ensured that SBBSU is committed and will continue to organize such camps in the future.
