Workshop Report
The Department of Management and Hotel Management of the University Institute of Commerce and Management, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar organized a one-day workshop on “AI Technologies and Tools in Business” under the aegis of IQAC and IIC. The session was inaugurated by the expert of the day, Mr. Laksh Thakur.
Mr. Thakur briefly explained the value and role of employees in business and industry, emphasizing the importance of productivity. He highlighted various strategies used by companies to enhance productivity through AI tools and technologies at all organizational levels.
The expert demonstrated live examples of different AI tools and technologies adopted by businesses to support operations and achieve sustainability and growth. He also discussed several initiatives implemented across sectors such as healthcare, corporate, banking, and agriculture.
Additionally, he shared innovative startup ideas based on AI tools, inspiring students to think creatively.
Students were guided to operate various AI tools including ChatGPT, Canva, Gemini, and Alexa. The expert also educated students on the correct and safe use of such technologies to prevent privacy breaches and ensure secure usage.
The expert talk focused on the adaptability of AI tools in daily tasks and official work. Students learned techniques for effective use of AI tools and how these tools enhance work productivity and improve overall work quality.
During the valedictory session, Dr. Varinderjeet Singh (Assistant Professor, COD Management Dept., UICM) congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation and expressed sincere gratitude to the expert for delivering an insightful session. He also appreciated Dr. Gagandeep S. Salhan and Dr. Manoj Kumar (Assistant Professor, Activity Coordinator, Management Dept., UICM) for organizing such meaningful and motivational events that prepare students to become industry-ready professionals.
