Republic Day

The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with pride and reverence by the NCC Unit , NSS Volunteers and Department of Physical Education under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala, Jalandhar. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolor flag at football ground by Dr. KPS Mahi( Associate Professor) accompanied by Dr. Harpreet Singh(CTO- NCC), Dr. Surinder Kaur Mahi (Associate Professor), Mr. Abhinav Sharma( Nodal Officer- NSS).
Flag hoisting was followed by the National Anthem to pay tribute to the motherland. A lecture on the relevance of Republic Day was delivered by Dr. KPS Mahi in the conference room. A patriotic video was also shown to the attendees. The program came to an end with the closing speech by Dr. Harpreet Singh. As we are well aware of the fact that Republic Day, celebrated annually on January 26th, holds a special place in the hearts of Indians. This day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India, which replaced the Government of India Act 1935, officially making India a Republic.
