Kisan Mela

With the heavenly blessings of revered Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) and with benign endorsement of worthy Chancellor Sant Baba Sarwan Singh Ji and under the able guidance of respected Vice-Chancellor of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Prof. (Dr.) Dharamjit Singh Parmar the department of Agriculture successfully organized the “Kisan Mela” on March 24, 2022. The Coordinator of the Department of Agriculture Dr. Shalu along with other faculty members organized this Kisan Mela. The Kisan Mela offered opportunities to the farmers and students to directly interact with scientists and experts of Agriculture. The Kisan Mela aimed to aware the farmers about future constraints in agriculture related to water shortage, excess use of fertilizers and shift towards organic farming. The Chief Guest of this event was S. Sukhwinder Singh Kotli (MLA Adampur). The farmers from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Pathankot marked their enthusiastic presence and availed the benefit of the ‘Kisan Mela’. Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, Vice President, along with S. Hardaman Singh Minhas, Secretary and Sh. Sunil Vats with other members of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Charitable Society took very keen interest in the agricultural activities of the Mela. Renowned progressive farmer S. Mohinder Singh Dosanjh shared his lifelong experiences and guided faculty members, students, farmers and other stakeholders for future strategies to be adopted for ecofriendly and sustainable agricultural practices. Students enthusiastically marked their presence during entire event and actively participated in different activities organized during the Mela. At the end Dr. Vikas, Dean Sciences, acknowledged the presence of audience.
