WEBINAR ON “SCOPE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN ENGINEERING"

With the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dlawar Singh ji, Brahm ji and with the benign endorsement of Chancellor Sant Baba Sarwan Singh ji, and under the able guidance of worthy Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, a webinar on " Scope of Intellectual Property Rights in Engineering ", was successfully organized on 14th Dec. 2021, by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University Institute of Engineering and Technology, under the aegis of IQAC, IIC and IPR cell. The goal of the webinar was to get participants understand the challenges in applying for IPR, Copyright and Patents.

Around 134 participants comprising of Faculty and Students participated in this webinar. The resource person of the workshop Dr. Cherry Bhargava, from Symbiosis International, Deemed University, elaborated upon importance of IPR, need of patents, publications, copyright. She discussed the role of Sr. Patent Analyst, Patent agent, earning through licensing and many more. She also discussed importance of dual degree in B.Tech, LLB, Patent attorney.

The key takeaway of the workshop was to instill in the students the mindset of more innovative ideas for problem solving rather than the traditional ones. Guiding students towards research-based learning, with an aim of boosting upon the need of IPR, Patent filling procedure, Trademark registration.
