One Day Webinar on How to Plan for Start-ups and Legal & Ethical Steps

One day webinar on " How to plan for Start-Ups and legal and Ethical Steps ", was successfully organized on 25th June 2021, by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the aegis of IQAC, IIC and UCA club. The goal of the webinar was to get participants understand the challenges and excitement in starting a small business. The legal requirements to launch a small business that is both profitable and compliant.

Around 100 participants comprising of Faculty and Students participated in this webinar. The event started with an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Vice- Chancellor, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar.

Dr. Parmar extended his warm welcome to the participants and Resource Persons of the Webinar. He thanked Mr. Tarundeep Singh Sambi, Chartered Accountant by profession, for being the speaker of the day to guide the participants. He also appreciated the efforts made by Department of Computer Science & Engineering for having chosen the title of this webinar, Start-ups. Start-ups in India have to deal with various obstacles like funding, insufficient skill, lack of marketing strategies, etc. over that start-up have obligation to operate in compliance with laws and follow the ethical behavior.

The resource person, Mr. Tarundeep Singh Sambi, started his presentation by talking about the importance of innovation in entrepreneurship. According to him, innovation is the most important word for an entrepreneur and society in general. He pushed everyone to bring out their innovative and creative ideas and shared his steps of taking the idea and making into reality.

He explained the basics of start-ups, including its initiation, raising funds, legal and ethical aspects of start-ups. The session was of great benefit for all the young innovators who were planning for their start-up and business. The session was able to boost their motivation to the next level. The key takeaway of the session was to instill in the students the mindset of more innovative ideas for problem solving rather than the traditional ones.

The session concluded by a vote of thanks from Dr. Jagdeep Kaur. She expressed special gratitude to the resource person, for such a provocative and thoughtful session. She also expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University and the management for their constant encouragement and support in conducting the Workshop. She also acknowledged the support of Director R&D, Dean UIET, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir. She gave special thanks to all Deans, Dy. Deans, Hods, Cods and valuable assets of the university, its students and alumni for their participation in making the workshop a grand success.
