Baba Nanak Bagichi Established at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University

With the heavenly blessings of Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji and Reverend Baba Dlawar Singh Ji ‘Brahm Ji’, and with the benign endorsement of Baba Janak Singh Ji, and Honorable Chancellor Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, and under the valuable guidance of Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University inaugurated “Baba Nanak Bagichi” established in collaboration with the Department of Forest and Wildlife Preservation, Jalandhar Division, Punjab. During inauguration ceremony, Baba Janak Singh Ji and Sant Manmohan Singh Ji, Honourable Chancellor of the University dedicated the “Baba Nanak Bagichi” to Reverend Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji (Founder Chancellor) and Reverend Baba Dlawar Singh Ji ‘Brahm Ji’(Second Chancellor) by raising the curtain and planting the saplings.
Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University said that this mini-forest “Baba Nanak Bagichi” is a tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and it is established through a Japanese technique known as “Miyawaki technique”. A dense forest in an area of more than 4200 square feet has been developed in the University campus to create dense forests with native plants. He mentioned that initiating such afforestation and biodiversity conservation activities is important for sustainable development and environment management. Also, he was extremely thankful to the University Management for providing basic infra-structural facilities and support for the development of this project.
S. Hardam Singh Minhas, Honourable Secretary of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Educational Complex expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Baba Janak Singh Ji, Sant Manmohan Singh Ji (Honourable Chancellor), and the esteemed members of the management of the SBBSEC, Dr. Dharmjit Singh Parmar (Honorable Vice-Chancellor, SBBSU), S. Ranjit Singh (Principal, Sant Baba Bhag Singh International School) and Ms. Manju Chawla (Principal, Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Nursing), and Dr. Aneet Kumar (Registrar, SBBSU) for their active contribution in plantation and establishment of the mini-forest. S. Minhas told that Dr. Indu Sharma (Associate Professor, Life Sciences, UIS, SBBSU) in association with S. Gurbax Singh (Forest Block Officer, Adampur) and other supporting team planted about 900 saplings in the bagichi. S. Hardam Singh Minhas also appreciated and acknowledged the efforts and support S. Harjit Singh (Forest Range Officer, Jalandhar), S. Tarsem Singh (Forest Block officer, Adampur), S. Gursharan Singh (Forest Block Officer, Jalandhar), and S. Gurbax Singh (Forest Block Officer, Adampur) from Forest Department, Jalandhar and their team for establishing the “Baba Nanak Bagichi” in the premises of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh University.
